Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Not legal advice. Contract Maker is a document drafting tool. It does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for a qualified lawyer. Documents generated by the service are drafts that you are responsible for reviewing before use.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Contract Maker (the “Service”), operated by AI Lab(“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.

2. The Service

The Service lets you create templates, upload reference documents (“Knowledge Files”), and generate draft contracts and other documents using artificial intelligence. AI output is generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any document before relying on or signing it.

3. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

The Service is offered on a subscription basis with a 7-day free trial for new accounts. Unless you cancel during the trial, the subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial and renews each billing period until cancelled. Prices are displayed at checkout and may be quoted in Australian dollars or your local currency.

Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals, and you retain access until the end of the current period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the templates, Knowledge Files, instructions, and generated documents you create or upload (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the Service to you — including sending relevant content to our AI provider to generate output on your behalf. You represent that you have the rights necessary to upload Your Content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or applicable law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful;
  • generate documents intended to facilitate illegal or fraudulent conduct;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its underlying systems; or
  • resell or provide the Service to third parties without our consent.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Firebase (hosting, authentication, and storage), OpenAI (AI generation), and Stripe (payments). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms where applicable, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, whether express or implied, including any warranty that the Service or its output will be accurate, complete, fit for a particular purpose, or legally sufficient. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our total liability is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the Service or refunding the fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; we may delete Your Content after a reasonable period in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia in respect of any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.

12. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be directed to AI Lab through the contact details published on our website.
