- How does the AI generate a contract?
- You create a template for each contract type and attach reference documents to it. When you give the AI a plain-language instruction describing the deal, it drafts a complete document by searching that template's private knowledge store and following your template's instructions and structure.
- Does the AI only use my own documents?
- Each template has its own dedicated, private knowledge store. Drafts for that template are grounded in the files you attached to it — your knowledge is never shared with other templates or other accounts.
- What file types can I upload as knowledge?
- Common document formats work well, including PDF, Microsoft Word (.docx), plain text (.txt), and Markdown (.md). Upload past contracts, standard clauses, policies, rate cards, or any reference material you want the AI to draw on.
- What formats do I get my contract in?
- Every generation produces a cleanly formatted Microsoft Word (.docx) file you can edit and a matching PDF you can share or sign. Both are generated server-side for consistent formatting.
- How does the free trial work?
- New accounts start with a 7-day free trial that includes full access to every feature. You will not be charged during the trial, and you can cancel anytime before it ends.
- How am I billed, and is it secure?
- After the trial, a single monthly subscription begins automatically. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, and your card details are never seen or stored by Contract Maker.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal inside the app. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the current billing period.
- Is my data private and secure?
- Your templates, uploaded knowledge files, and generated documents live in your own workspace and are not shared between accounts. Any work that touches sensitive credentials runs only on secure servers, never in your browser.
- How do I sign in?
- You can sign in with your Google account or with an email address and password. There is nothing to install — Contract Maker runs entirely in the browser.
- Is this legal advice?
- No. Contract Maker is a drafting tool, not a law firm, and it does not provide legal advice. AI-generated documents are drafts that you should review — and have a qualified lawyer review where appropriate — before relying on or signing them.
